White rooms, wine coloured cushions, and the bay left to do the rest.

The main rooms are held to white: tufted leather seating in long low runs, sheer curtains along the window walls, maple floors and a deep olive shag rug. Colour arrives only in the cushions, wine and aubergine, and in an orchid or two. Glass and polished steel carry the tables, moulded chairs stand at a round dining table, and framed works in dark leather relief hang above a walnut credenza.

Sliding doors put the terrace in the middle of the plan. Out there a white daybed sits on dark stone with lanterns and pebble lights, the skyline and the water beyond. Inside, the bedroom takes a maple panelled wall and a tufted white headboard, and the baths run travertine and dark stone, with one powder room papered in a photograph of the owner.
